Most Doctors Aren’t Using Electronic Health Records

  • "Doctors who use electronic health records say overwhelmingly that such records have helped improve the quality and timeliness of care. Yet fewer than one in five of the nation’s doctors has started using such records."
  • Large doctors offices (>50 doctors) have the highest adoption rate of electronic records (50.5%)
  • Estimated cost per MD of adopting electronic records: $15,000 to $20,000
